Saint-Brieuc lies to the north of Brittany on the beautiful coast of the Cotes d`Armor, about 1½ hours from the port of St-Malo, and 3 hours by TGV from Paris.

The origins of our twin town can be traced back to the Middle Ages, with narrow cobbled streets and interesting buildings dating from that period, to modern day architecture that blends well with the old Saint-Brieuc. It has a diverse religious history and the beautiful Cathedral of Saint-Etienne stands proudly in the centre of the town.
Saint-Brieuc is a large commercial town, being the centre of the Cotes d`Armor region, with a wide variety of shops, museum, Art Gallery, and Theatre. The population is far larger than that of Aberystwyth, 48,995 inhabitants, but has never proved a problem, as we have often been able to benefit from the experiences of our ‘Big’ partner.
